Take your dog hunting and don’t worry about losing your beloved hunting partner again! This Unit contains the newest, improved Astro 320 handheld. This is a top-mounted, high-sensitivity GPS enabled dog tracking device for sports dogs. Track your dog’s every position and know precisely where he is at all times, even when you can’t see or hear him. In addition, there is a new and upgraded T5 transmitter collar!
The Garmin Astro system contains a brilliant color-screen portable GPS device and a robust and tough, orange polyurethane T5 collar. The collar strap accepts most e-collar receivers — so simply slide your compatible e-collar receiver straight over the T5 strap and remove the need to place two separate collars on your dog.
Plus, block others from viewing your dog’s location with a unique function called the Collar Lock. The Collar Lock provides a four-digit PIN code for your unit – this is a valuable feature in field trials to guarantee that an Astro is used exclusively as a recovery tool when a dog in competition goes lost.
Quick and Easy Set-Up to this machine. To get started, simply take Astro outside and switch on the handheld and transmitter to gather GPS satellite signals. Then connect the T5 to your dog. Now you’re ready to send him free – no further preparation necessary!
Track Dogs in Dense Cover
As frequently as every five seconds, your dog’s T5 broadcasts his location to your Astro 320 handheld. On the Map page of your handheld, you can track your dog’s every location. Switch over to the Dog Tracker tab to display a compass pointing to your dog’s position as well as his current status: observe whether he’s running, sitting, on point, or treeing quarry. The innovative three-axis electronic compass (available exclusively on the Astro 320) helps hunters properly observe their dog’s location while holding the handheld at any angle.
When your dog gets on point, Astro may sound an alert to inform you. In addition to auditory notifications, Garmin has now added a new vibration function on the Astro 320. Astro sports a high-sensitivity GPS receiver that can monitor your dog’s whereabouts even under the thickest of coverings.
Using the Astro’s Covey Counter™, a specific waypoint gives you the precise position, time of day and elevation where you located your prey, as well as the number of birds you flushed and captured from that area. Mark unique waypoints, such as “Truck” and “Lodge,” so you can store the position of these sites quickly and simply for each search. Astro also has specific waypoint icons to depict food plots, tree stands and other hunting-related sites.
Don’t ever get lost in the woods again! The Astro will bring you back to your vehicle at the end of the day, or perhaps back home again. In fact, the Astro portable offers all the capabilities of Garmin’s top-line handheld outdoor devices, including a barometric altimeter, 3-axis electronic compass, microSD card slot, astronomical information, area calculator and durable, IPX7 waterproof casing.
With optional comprehensive city street maps, you may search for over 6 million sites of interest and plan a route on roads with accurate turn-by-turn instructions.
Astro 320 Enhancements:
The Astro 320 enhances the user experience with a simplified menu layout and stunning visuals owing to its vivid, sunlight-readable 2.6” color display.
The 320 offers a built-in globe basemap with shaded relief, with support for augmented mapping such as BirdsEye™ satellite imagery, Topo Maps, and Garmin custom maps.
With an optional BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription, hunters may identify buildings, powerlines, and even individual trees — straight on their Astro 320. Garmin’s free BaseCamp software enables hunters and trainers to download, examine and store their dog’s tracks to a computer for viewing later – a terrific tool for monitoring performance.
This sturdy, well-made, tough handheld also has a built-in vibration motor to support silent alerts, a 3-axis digital compass (allowing the hunter to hold the handheld at any angle), improved reception range, a fully rubberized outer coating with an over molding for a better grip, a new keyboard design, and onboard memory for storing additional mapping (1.7 Gigs) (1.7 Gigs).
The new portable also incorporates a safety keypad lock so buttons aren’t unintentionally pressed during the quest. It has an orange trim color that is extremely beneficial for hunters to recognize the unit if it slips out of your pocket or bag during a hunt or is just missing. This gadget provides the capacity to send waypoints, tracks, and even their dog’s tracking settings to other Garmin Astro320 users wirelessly.
