Should you have an emergency or accident, the Garmin Alpha incorporates InReach technology so you can send an SOS or other message over the Iridium satellite network from anywhere in the globe (subscription needed) (subscription required).

Map the area you and your dog traversed throughout the day’s hunt on your computer using the Waypoints and Tracks and Dog Tracks functions on the Alpha Handheld. Download your hunt using either MapSource or Motionbased.com and observe your hunt on a TOPO map or Google Earth.

Avoid Getting Lost with Hunter-Friendly Icons

Mark and name your car, UTVs, blinds, hunting lodge, food plots, and other outdoor elements with waypoint symbols particularly created for hunting.

Keep Up with Birds Using the Covey Counter

Mark the precise position of your coveys on the map with this unique waypoint feature and note the time of day, elevation, number of birds in the covey, and number of birds taken.

Additional Uses

Although the Garmin Alpha was initially created for hunting dogs, many of our non-hunting clients have discovered that the Alpha is great for spending time outside with their dogs and letting them to run off-leash. Whether hiking, camping, motorcycling, or horseback riding, the Garmin Alpha provides your dogs greater freedom while enabling you keep a close check on them and locate them if they get lost. Since the Garmin Alpha is also a full-featured GPS, it will help protect you from getting lost as well!
