The Astro 320 is a portable device that takes dog tracking to the next level. With numerous cellphones and T 5 or T 5 tiny dog gadgets, you can keep track of up to 10 dogs (sold separately).
A 3-axis electronic compass, a high-sensitivity Garmin GPS/GLONASS transmitter, expanded map drawing capabilities, BirdsEye Satellite Imagery compatibility, and a high-sensitivity Garmin GPS/GLONASS transmitter guarantee you get back to your vehicle or camp at the conclusion of the hunt. All of this is accessible through a bright, sunlight-readable 2.6-inch color display.
Observe Your Dogs at All Times
High-sensitivity GPS receiver/transmitters are included in the Astro portable and T 5 (or T 5 small) dog gadget. The T 5 and T 5 tiny both contain a top-mounted GPS antenna and are intended to maintain their flexible, braided stainless steel radio antenna upright for optimal reception, allowing you to follow your dog’s whereabouts even in densely forested areas or deep gorges. It’s also robust enough to run everywhere your dog does (water-rated to 10 meters).
Astro allows you to monitor up to 10 dogs at once, with a range of up to 9 miles (T 5) or 4 miles (T 5 tiny) depending on terrain.
Astro allows you to monitor up to 10 dogs at once, with a range of up to 9 miles (T 5) or 4 miles (T 5 tiny) depending on terrain. Because the technology communicates data by line-of-sight, it travels the furthest on flat, open terrain.
The T 5 and T 5 tiny dog gadgets send your dog’s location to your Astro 320 handheld every 5 seconds. On the map screen, you can see your dog’s present position and a trail of where he’s been thanks to the colorful display. To see a compass pointing to your dog’s position, go to the Dog Track page.
You can view each dog’s accurate distance on the map page while tracking numerous dogs with T 5 and T 5 tiny dog devices, and you can opt to auto zoom the map so that all dogs may be seen on the display at any moment.
Dogs that are too far away to be seen on the current zoom scale of the map may be noted on the display’s margin in the direction of their position. You may also determine how long each dog’s tracklog is shown on the screen, or turn it off entirely.
Added Benefits for Your Peace of Mind
When the battery life falls below 25%, Rescue mode reduces the update pace to save battery life and allow you more time to seek for a missing dog. When you pick your update pace, you may have a battery life of anywhere from 16 hours (with the T 5/TT 15 small) to 40 hours (with the T 5/TT 15).
The battery lasts 24 to 44 hours in rescue mode, depending on the dog gadget. Collar Lock also generates a 4-digit PIN code that prevents outsiders from viewing your dog’s location – a critical feature in field trials to guarantee that an Astro is only used as a search tool if a dog in competition gets lost.
When the battery life falls below 25%, Rescue mode reduces the update pace to give you more time to hunt for a missing dog.
Ease of Upgrade
It’s now a bit simpler to get everything you need for the search. You may buy the complete Astro package as well as as many T 5 and T 5 tiny dog collars as you like. Your Astro 320 will also work with any T 5 or T 5 tiny dog gadget.
Additional Astro Astro Mapping
You may load TOPO U.S. 24K maps for land elevation contours or City Navigator NT® map data for turn-by-turn navigation on roadways into the Astro 320’s microSDTM card slot. BirdsEye Satellite Imagery (membership needed) is also supported by Astro 320, allowing you to download satellite pictures to your smartphone and combine them with your maps. Mapping shows you whether your dog has crossed a waterway or is approaching a risky route by depicting significant adjacent geographical elements.
Garmin Custom Maps, a free program that converts paper and electronic maps into downloaded maps for your device, is also compatible with the Astro 320.
Count the number of coveys you have.
After you’ve caught your prey, use Astro’s Covey CounterTM to mark the precise area with a specific waypoint that gives you the exact position, time of day, and elevation where you spotted your prey, as well as the number of birds you flushed and took from that spot. Other specific waypoints, such as “Truck” and “Lodge,” may be saved in Astro so that you can quickly and conveniently record the position of these sites for each hunt. Food plots, tree stands, and other hunting-related places are represented by specific waypoint icons in Astro.
Plan Your Next Vacation
BaseCampTM is software that allows you to examine and manage maps, waypoints, routes, and tracks for your next journey. You may also build Garmin Adventures to share with friends, family, or other explorers with this free trip-planning program. On your computer screen, BaseCamp shows topographic map data in 2-D or 3-D, including contour lines and elevation profiles. When combined with a BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription, it can also transmit an endless number of satellite pictures to your smartphone.
Wirelessly share
The Astro 320 may link with your buddy’s Oregon®, Montana®, GPSMAP® 64, or other ANT+ enabled devices by wirelessly connecting to a number of compatible Garmin devices, including VIRBTM action cameras and ANT+® sensors (including heart rate monitor and bike cadence).
Turn Your Computer Into a Dog Tracking BaseStation
Install BaseStation software on your laptop to transform it into a field control center for tracking numerous dogs (T 5 and T 5 mini dog devices). View real-time GPS data on your computer’s bigger monitor, which is great for canine search and rescue teams. Because it’s GPS/GLONASS, you’ll receive safe, secure, and more effective tracking even if you don’t have access to the Internet or a mobile phone.
